Lectures of Susan Piper Hill in Romania within the Rural Library Program in Romania
During October 4 – 10, Susan Hill Pieper, member of the the Executive Board of the Public Library Association in the United States held a series of meetings with librarians in university and public libraries in Romania, upon the invitation of the Embassy’s Information Resource Center. Ms. Piper has been the director of the Paulding County Library since 1997, has a Masters Degree in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and has been a librarian for 25 years. At the meetings with librarians from Bucuresti, Giurgiu, Ialomita, Dambovita, Calarasi, Braila, Galati si Constanta, Ms. Pieper talked about passion, vision and enthusiasm in librarianship and how to advocate for funding for you library, according to the important services that the library provides to community members.
